Position EBs on the Matrix

Position all EBs on the Matrix in their time and spatial sequence.

EBs are aligned on the Matrix in three ways. The choices depend on the begin date and time entries.

  1. Tools > Snap EBs to Time (Command+T) ) which rearranges all EB on Matrix in time sequence.

  2. Tools > Snap Times to Matrix (up arrow+command+T) saves the EBs the way they are positioned now, overriding entered times.

  3. Manually, by dragging EB along row to desired position.

The Edit menu > Undo command will undo the last change.

All EBs have Begin date/time entered

If begin dates and times, either confirmed or estimated, are entered for each EB, Tools > Snap Matrix to Times (Command+T or click on the black and 'Order Event Blocks based on begin dates' in the Tool bar). All the events will be arranged by their begin time along their respective actor rows.

Some EBs have Begin date/time entered

Command+T or clicking on the 'Order Event Blocks based on begin dates' icon in the Tool Bar aligns all EBs with Begin date/time entries.

Entries without begin times must be aligned manually by dragging them along the actor row to their logical relative position, and then setting the positions manually. To set or reset an EB's position on a Matrix, use Control click (right click) on the EB and then select either Snap to Previous Block or Snap to Next Block.

Note: The manual Snap command adds or subtracts one second from the Begin time of the previous or next EB and enters that time as the new begin time.

Use Command+T or click on the 'Order Event Blocks based on begin dates' icon in the Tool Bar to ensure proper spacing and positioning of all EBs on the Matrix.
No EBs have any Begin date/time entered

Manually align the EBs relative to each other, then use the Tools > Snap Times to Matrix or use up arrow+command+T command or click on the 'Set event begin dates to their Matrix position' icon on the Tool Bar. EBs may be added, positioned manually and the above steps repeated.

NOTE: Importing a Matrix with EBs positioned this way will require manually repositioning EBs after import is complete.
Changed EB Begin date/time

Use Command-T or select the 'Order Event Blocks based on begin dates' icon on the Tool Bar.
