Print Outputs

Matrices, panels and lists can be printed from OS 10.2 or better, using the Mac printer dialogues.

For sophisticated print preprocessing, tailoring or editing of printouts, Investigation Catalyst enables and recommends the use of specialized graphics or drawing applications capable of handling large graphics files. Export the matrixes as PNG or JPG files, then import them into qualifieed Mac or PC graphics or drawing applications for processing to your unique specifications.

Investigation Catalyst printouts

Investigation Catalyst provides for the printing of Matrixes you produce. The procedures are described below. Printing Matrices from Investigation Catalyst at less than 50% scale is not recommended, as type will be too small to read.

User may set size of printout by selecting Page Setup > Settings >and selecting Catalyst from the pull down menu:

The Investigation Catalyst window will open.

specify how many pages wide the printout should be, or enter both width and height values, and press return or click on ok. the matrix will be printed in tiled pages.

Note: It is advisable to check the selection for legibility by previewing the printout from the Print menu before printing, which produces a PDF version of the printout. Reductions greater than 50% are likely to produce unsatisfactory prints.

Tailored or Edited Printouts

Investigation Catalyst is designed to accommodate sophisticated tailoring or editing of outputs by Mac and PC User's by using the Export Image function.

Export large matrices as PNG, or JPG files, then open those files with graphics management or drawing applications that can select areas to print, crop, enlarge, reduce, edit and print large charts.

For Mac users, GraphicConverter, a shareware application available at http://www.lemkesoft.com/ is highly recommended because of its superior graphics management capabilities and ease of use. For PC and Mac users, Canvas 9 is a very comprehensive and capable graphics application that , while somewhat more complicated to use, provides even greater flexibility for tailoring or editing matrix outputs with layering tools.
